Natural Skin, Hair and Body Care
What is natural - the frustrating truth
There is currently no regulation or agreed standards on what constitutes a natural beauty product. Some products are labelled ‘natural’ but contain virtually no natural ingredients and many very unnatural ones!
How do we define it?
Natural ingredients are raw materials from plants, animals or minerals that exist in nature. To maintain their ‘naturalness’, these raw materials should be subject to only minimal processing.
Our promise
We only choose ranges that not only offer a very high level of natural ingredients but also exclude a range of questionable ingredients that we believe could have adverse environmental or health impact including SLS, parabens and other petrochemical derivatives, Cocamide DEA, talc and synthetic perfumes.* We also provide the full list of ingredients for each product so you can see exactly what is (and equally as importantly, what isn’t) in each product.
Natural Certification
There is a certification board specifically for natural products, called the
BDIH. Look for their logo if you want to be sure of a product and its ‘naturalness’!
*A few Burt's Bees products include a small amount of safe synthetic ingredients in their fragrances which is clearly stated in the product info.
